History

Hornell Erie Federal Credit Union opened its doors in 1954 originally under the name, Erie R.R. Employees Hornell, to serve the employees of the Erie Railroad Company who worked or had headquarters in Hornell and their family members. The credit union was not called Hornell Erie Federal Credit Union until the summer of 1976.

HEFCU now is a member owned financial cooperative providing financial banking services to multiple member groups, but primarily serves transportation industry employees. Membership is also open to immediate family members.

Hornell Erie Federal Credit Union has assets totaling $4.7 million and provides credit union services to more than 1,000 members. We are a traditional credit union to provide you with a place to save your money, earn competitive dividends, and loans for any prudent and productive purpose at a reasonable rate.
